glass beach are back!

Stream and watch music video for CIA now

Today marks the first sign of life from the seemingly-extinct enigma that is glass beach, as the band releases their dark, dancy, post-punk/jazz hybrid, "the CIA." From the start, the song builds tension and confusion until it explodes into a brutal modern metal climax, flickering with glitchy production zaps and razor-sharp stops. It's a thrilling glimpse into a universe that front person and primary songwriter J. McClendon has been meticulously crafting, and was recorded in Los Angeles, engineered and mixed by McClendon and lead guitarist Layne Smith, and later mastered by Grammy-nominated producer Will Yip.

A must-see video for “the CIA" is also out today. Directed/edited by drummer William White, it's a compelling cinematic companion to the adventurous track.

Citizen "Calling The Dogs" out October 6th, stream "If You're Lonely"

US & UK tour dates w/ Narrow Head, Modern Color, Drug Church

Renowned alternative rock band Citizen is back with a sensational new single, "If You're Lonely,” marking the first release from their forthcoming fifth album Calling The Dogs due October 6. The accompanying video for “If You’re Lonely” is captured through a nostalgic lens as it finds the band playing out of their garage while the suburban chaos of neighborhood politics ensues around them.

Listen to “If You’re Lonely” /// Pre-save Calling The Dogs

With introspective lyrics and a heartfelt melody, the track delves into the personal experiences of lead singer Mat Kerekes who drew inspiration from a challenging upbringing and his own journey of self-discovery. Reflecting on the song's emotional depth, Kerekes shares, “I grew up around a narcissistic parent and absorbed a lot of that behavior over time, negatively affecting people close to me. If You’re Lonely is about recognizing that, growing from it, and becoming a reliable shoulder to lean on.”

"If You're Lonely" serves as a compelling introduction to Citizen’s new era. It’s a remarkable testament to Citizen's ability to reinvent themselves with every album. The forthcoming LP is the band’s most poignant body of work yet, as the record approaches themes of self-reflection, personal growth, and resilience.

On Calling The Dogs, the band exemplifies that passionate songwriting and styling while stripping back to what they do best: guitar-driven rock ‘n roll. Additionally, Citizen has also announced a world tour in support of this new record. The first legwill see the band lighting up the stages coast-to-coast starting in Indianapolis on October 18 with stops in Las Vegas for When We Were Young Festival, Los Angeles, San Francisco, Nashville, New York, and more, before concluding their US trek in Chicago on November 26. The band will then take the show overseas for a UK/EU run, beginning in February 2024. All tour dates are listed below.

With the release of "If You're Lonely,” Citizen is no doubt highlighting their musical evolution and setting the tone for the next era as Calling The Dogs promises to be a defining rebirth in their already illustrious career.

Temple of Angels' debut album "Endless Pursuit" out today

US summer tour dates including Sound & Fury

Temple of Angels' debut album, Endless Pursuit, is out today. Across Endless Pursuit's eleven stunning songs the Austin, TX-based four-piece have managed to capture all of the most dazzling and entrancing elements of dream pop while still highlighting the hefty dose of hook-filled songwriting at its core.

Earlier singles "Tangled In Joy," "Waving To The Wind," and "(For You) I'd Lose It All" drew attention from the likes of Stereogum, BrooklynVegan, Austin Chronicle, and more, and now listeners can enjoy the full breadth of Endless Pursuit's dynamic sound. To mark the album's release Temple of Angels have teamed with BrooklynVegan for an in-depth look at the influences that went into the record.

Temple of Angels formed in 2017, emerging from the Texas punk and hardcore scene with a widescreen sound recalling the likes of Cocteau Twins, The Cure, or The Sundays. After releasing a series of EPs and singles, the band have made good on the promise of their early work with Endless Pursuit. The album was recorded with Colin Knight (Death Bells, Fury, Leisure World) and Phillip Odom (Ceremony, Militarie Gun, Portrayal of Guilt), and then mastered by Will Yip (Turnover, Citizen, Title Fight), and sounds so fully formed and assured that it belies the difficult circumstances that inspired it. Throughout the record, Morell reckons with the loss of a parent and its deeply unmooring impact on her life. “I started having extremely vivid nightmares reliving certain experiences with my mom that started to take over my life, trapping me in that trauma,” Morell explains. These dreams, filled with “the constant feeling that something or someone so essential to you is missing, home doesn't feel like home anymore, and something about this world just feels off now” would form the central core of Endless Pursuit.

Temple of Angels are also embarking on a lengthy North American tour scheduled for the summer, starting at the end of the month. See full itinerary below.

Fiddlehead 'Death Is Nothing To Us' out 8/18, stream Sullenboy

Fall US Tour Dates Announced

Fiddlehead are back, and today the post-hardcore heroes have announced their upcoming third full-length, Death Is Nothing To Us, out August 18th. The album finds Fiddlehead completing the thematic trilogy that began with their previous two releases, resulting in a truly special album that feels like both a culmination of the band's work so far, and one of the years most powerful and life-affirming rock records.

Death Is Nothing To Us is Fiddlehead's most dynamic set of songs to date, with every track pushing further into the melodic and aggressive poles of their sound, all while vocalist Pat Flynn tackles difficult existential themes with an open-heartedness that comes through in every word.

The release of Fiddlehead's sophomore album, Between The Richness, drew praise from fans and critics alike (including Pitchfork, Stereogum, The FADER, Billboard, SPIN, BrooklynVegan, Paste, and many more), and saw the band unexpectedly becoming one of the most vital groups in rock music today. On Death Is Nothing To Us, Flynn delves deeper than ever into the nuances of loss and sadness, but his deeply vulnerable approach is exhilarating and often even joyous in its humanity. "I don’t want people to romanticize grief and depression, myself included,” he explains. “But I wanted to write about the way loss can perpetuate this feeling of sadness in your life. I didn’t intend to make some kind of thematic trilogy but there is this connection to the first two records, and this album sort of rounds out some of the stages of grief that weren’t addressed previously–especially this feeling of stickiness that a depressive attitude can have.” The lyrics on Death Is Nothing To Us attempt to reject the allure of sorrow with a deftness and intensity that's matched by Fiddlehead's music, creating one of the most undeniably compelling albums you'll here this year.

Fiddlehead have announced a run of North American headlining shows. See full itinerary below.

Upcoming Shows:

09/22 Boston, MA @ Royale
09/23 New York, NY @ Webster Music Hall

See full itinerary below.

glass beach are back!

Fall US Tour Dates Announced

Fiddlehead are back, and today the post-hardcore heroes have announced their upcoming third full-length, Death Is Nothing To Us, out August 18th.

See full itinerary below.

glass beach are back!

See full itinerary below.

glass beach are back!
