Scranton punks Captain We're Sinking are back with their first album in four years. The King of No Man will be released on Run For Cover Records on June 23, 2017. Billboard premiered the first track from the album today, titled "Trying Year", which deals with "trying to come to grips with what the universe gives you, and continuing to push forward with the cards that are dealt," according to singer/guitarist Bobby Barnett.
Captain We're Sinking have always had a story to tell. For the decade they've been a band, their songs have always confronted life's hardships in a way that feels lived-in and authentic. On The King of No Man, the band presents their best work to date - a punk album that is resilient in every sense of the word. Right from the start of "Trying Year", The King of No Man confronts life's seemingly constant defeats, and throughout navigates themes of desperation, debt, and death.
The band will also be playing a record release show for The King of No Man on June 23rd at Everybody's Hits in Philadelphia.
Edit 6/24/2017: The band will also be heading out on a two week tour in July, with four of the dates being with The Menzingers.
