Camp Cope "Running with the Hurricane" out 3/25, listen to the title track and pre-order now

Melbourne trio Camp Cope announce their highly anticipated forthcoming album Running with the Hurricane out Friday March 25th. The follow-up to their ARIA nominated, critically acclaimed LP, How To Socialise & Make Friends (2018), Running with the Hurricane uncovers the aftermath of walking through the fire and emerging together, stronger, calmer and happier than ever before.

Stream "Running with the Hurricane"

For this album the band spent longer in the studio, taking the time to fine tune every aspect of the album and layer in piano, backing vocals and additional guitar. Working with engineer Anna Laverty at Sing Sing Recording Studios, who produced the album alongside Maq, the trio were able to create something with the overall plan of, as bassist Kelly-Dawn Hellmrich notes, “just doing something that makes us happy and might make other people feel good too.” They brought in friends Courtney Barnett and Shauna Boyle of Cable Ties to provide added instrumentation on ‘Caroline’/’Sing Your Heart Out’ and ‘One Wink At A Time’ respectively. The resulting sound is still recognizably Camp Cope, just a little softer, a bit more relaxed and much more refined.

Running with the Hurricane pre-orders are available now.

Anxious release new single 'Let Me' a week ahead of their new LP "Little Green House"

Connecticut-based punk up-and-comers, Anxious, are gearing up to release their debut full-length, Little Green House, on January 21st from Run For Cover Records. Today the band are back with one more early single "Let Me" which features a guest spot from Fiddlehead and Have Heart vocalist Pat Flynn.

Anxious have been quickly gaining momentum with their seamless combination of hardcore grit, classic emo dynamism, and '90s alternative hooks, and on Little Green House the promising young five-piece have taken a massive leap forward with that sound. The album's previous singles "Growing Up Song," "In April" and "Call From You" have drawn praise from the likes of Stereogum, The FADER, Revolver Magazine, FLOOD Magazine, BrooklynVegan, Uproxx, and more, highlighting Anxious' ability to seamlessly blend raw, emotional punk, with soaring melodies and anthemic choruses. "Let Me" leans into the bite of the band's earlier work but with a honed sense of songwriting and hooks. The track concludes with an appearance from Flynn's distinctive voice, further contextualizing Anxious in the long tradition of hardcore musicians pushing boundaries.

Vocalist Grady Allen discussed the new song saying:

"'Let Me'" is a song about coming to terms with my parent's divorce. I think I spent much of my time as a young person (both the divorce and during) trying to be a resource to both of my parent's frustration and anger despite the deep emotional toll it took on me. The song is me grappling with two roads to take: either be deeply invested in both of my parents' pain and place myself secondary- or remove myself from the situation and leave my parents' with one less person to talk to."
