Citizen unveil 2 unreleased b-sides as part of "Life In Your Glass World (Deluxe Edition)" out today

Last year Toledo-based rock powerhouse Citizen released their fourth full-length Life In Your Glass World via Run For Cover Records. The record pushed them into new sonic territory and earned praise from fans and critics alike (including attention from Stereogum, The FADER, Entertainment Weekly, Bandcamp Daily, NPR, SPIN Magazine, BrooklynVegan, and many more), marking another giant step forward for the always adventurous band. Today Citizen have released Life In Your Glass World (Deluxe Edition) which collects the original release along with two previously unheard b-sides and the band's Glass Mix EPs.

The two previously unreleased songs "A Passing Thing" and "I Don't Love You" continue to dive headfirst into the kind of biting, widescreen indie rock that makes Life In Your Glass World such a compelling listen. "A Passing Thing" is an uptempo burst of sharp guitars and driving drums that recalls the energy of Citizen's recent one-off single "Bash Out," while "I Don't Love You" showcases the lush arrangements and quick-changing dynamics that the band have come to excel at.

Citizen have been touring relentlessly since the release of Life In Your Glass World and they're about to hit the road again. In October the band will be doing a run of headlining North American dates with support from Prince Daddy & The Hyena, Militarie Gun, and Restraining Order. The shows include two dates in Los Angeles at The Regent (October 7th and 8th). See full itinerary below.

Field Medic releases single "Stained Glass" ahead of new album out 10/14

From his forthcoming album grow your hair long if you're wanting to see something that you can change, Field Medic has released a third single, "stained glass". The track finds the Los Angeles-based songwriter & musician also known as Kevin Patrick Sullivan reflecting on a crisis and concluding matter-of-factly, “this is a reckoning for my own stupidity.”

On his fifth full-length, Sullivan completely reinvented his recording approach, relinquishing solitary control of his typical, self-described “full-time freestyle” bedroom recording process, and heading into the producer & multi-instrumentalist Gabe Goodman's LA studio. In particular, “stained glass” is a shining showcase for steel guitarist Nick Levine (of Jodi) and drummer Nate Lich, who fleshed out arrangements across the album apart from four self-recorded and self-produced tracks.

Beginning October 2022, Field Medic embarks on a headlining fall tour through the US and Canada, with support from Sadurn, Derek Ted, and Juliet Sunflower. For the first time, he’ll be accompanied by a band in addition to his trusty boombox. Find a full list of tour dates below; buy tickets here.

Teen Suicide 'honeybee table at the butterfly feast' is out today!

Early praise for Teen Suicide and honeybee table at the butterfly feast:

"...what holds honeybee table at the butterfly feast together is the friction between its disparate sounds and ideas, those contradictions in close quarters. And within those contradictions is an idea that Ray has been driving at for most of his career." - The FADER

"Teen Suicide has never been an easy project to pigeonhole, and that’s truer than ever on the mercurial honeybee table, as Ray embraces his—and all of our—everyday battles to find fulfillment, as well as an expansive sonic palette, with wide-open arms." - Paste Magazine

Teen Suicide have released their long-awaited new album, honeybee table at the butterfly feast, out today from Run For Cover Records. Having already drawn early attention from the likes of Stereogum, The FADER, BrooklynVegan, Paste Magazine, and more, the album offers some of the band's most ambitious and varied work to date--even for a group who have always been known to keep listeners on their toes. Teen Suicide mastermind, Sam Ray, wrote the sixteen song opus while working through serious health issues and a very real sense of urgency permeates the album's wide range of sounds and ideas.

Since forming Teen Suicide in 2009, Ray has led the project through endless sonic shifts and evolutions, always leaving listeners on their toes but completely along for the ride. From scrappy lo-fi punk to bombastic post-rock to ambient soundscapes, the most consistent thing about Teen Suicide--and its various permutations, like American Pleasure Club--is Ray's intense creativity and the deeply compelling songwriting that results from it. honeybee table at the butterfly feast was written over the course of several years while Ray struggled with a mysterious respiratory illness, which made it very difficult to perform and record—and eventually led to a near death experience. Yet the album is still vibrant and wide-ranging with Ray's artistic restlessness resulting in a genre-spanning journey that finds the songwriter beginning to unpack a new phase of life.

Teen Suicide are celebrating the release of honeybee table at the butterfly feast with two headline shows in Brooklyn and Los Angeles coming up in October. Tickets are on sale now, see itinerary below.
