LANNDS Announce Debut Album "Music For The Future" out 03/03

LANNDS
, the newly Los Angeles-based duo of vocalist-guitarist Rania Woodard and multi-instrumentalist Brian Squillace, have announced their debut full-length, Music For The Future, due out March 3rd via Run For Cover Records. The album is a shimmering psych-pop excursion into the vibrant world of LANNDS.

To mark the announcement, LANNDS have teamed with The FADER to premiere the video for their new single "Blueprint." The new song follows the band's recent singles "Overseas/BACK 2 U" and "K TOWN," which also appear on Music For The Future and drew attention from the likes of MTV News, The FADER, Paste Magazine, BrooklynVegan, and more. The song offers the ideal entry point into LANNDS' warbling synths, powerful rhythms, and of course, the entrancing voice of Woodard. It's a gauzy welcome that captures LANNDS' ability to make music that feels both otherworldly and also deeply human.

The FADER praised the new track saying LANNDS, "...cut their delicate psych pop with a steely triumphalism... Built around multi-instrumentalist Squillace's groaning synths and subtle use of electronic motifs, the track is illuminated by Woodar's sighed vocals."

One Step Closer Release Surprise EP "Songs For The Willow"

One Step Closer released their debut full-length, This Place You Know, last year on Run For Cover Records, and since then they've grown into one of the most exciting new bands in modern hardcore. The album drew attention from the likes of Stereogum, Revolver Magazine, The FADER, BrookylnVegan, NPR, SPIN, Bandcamp Daily, FLOOD Magazine and more, and it kicked off a nearly endless run of shows. But One Step Closer are showing no signs of slowing down, and today the Wilkes-Barre, PA upstarts have surprised released a new three-song EP, Songs For The Willow.

Out today via RFC, Songs For The Willow finds One Step Closer leaning into the most melodic elements of their sound without sacrificing an ounce of energy. The EP's three songs are packed with hardcore grit but propel the band into more anthemic territory than ever. To celebrate the release, One Step Closer have also shared their new music video for EP standout "Turn To Me."

Songs For The Willow is the start of a compelling new chapter for One Step Closer. The band reunited with Eric Chesek (who recorded This Place You Know) along with Jon Markson (whose recent work includes albums by Drug Church, Koyo, and Soul Blind), to step outside of their comfort zone and push the boundaries of their sound. The result is three powerhouse tracks that make the most of One Step Closer's sense of scope and passion. The group will also be keeping their busy schedule, with worldwide touring throughout the Winter and Spring. One Step Closer will be performing in North America, Australia, Southeast Asia, Japan, and more, including shows with Silverstein, Soul Blind, and Life's Question. See full itinerary below.

LANNDS Share New Single/Video "Overseas/BACK 2 U", streaming everywhere

LANNDS
, the newly Los Angeles-based duo of vocalist-guitarist Rania Woodard and multi-instrumentalist Brian Squillace, have released another transportive new single, "Overseas/BACK 2 U" out today.

The track follows the band's recent single "K TOWN" (which drew attention from the likes of The FADER, BrooklynVegan, and more), and offers another great jumping on point for LANNDS' vibrant psych-pop. Built on a warbling synth line and Woodard's entrancing vocals, "Overseas/Back 2 U" unfolds like a hazy dream, welcoming you into otherworldly but deeply human nature of LANNDS' music.

Woodard discussed the new song, saying:
"This song is meant to capture the tragedies of unfortunate unrequited love. Sometimes you meet a person and you realize you both are in different places in your lives and it just doesn’t work out. I wanted to write about the feelings in between the silence, the feelings after you realize you wish things were different, and the moments you realize that no matter what this person will still and always occupy a space in your heart and the way you move through life from then on."

Narrow Head "Moments of Clarity" out 2/10, pre-orders available now

Pre-order Narrow Head's Moments of Clarity
Out February 10th 2023

Solitude, melancholy, and revelation bleed into each other throughout Narrow Head’s, Moments of Clarity, transporting the listener through a vast terrain of emotional spaces. Traversing the depths of towering, churning riffs, bouncing, lock-grooved rhythms, and crystalline, gorgeously constructed hooks, the Houston-based outfit puts on a masterclass in the art of writing songs that match the pain, pleasure, and confusion of modern living. Each track is sentimental without being precious, heavy without unnecessary griminess, pop-forward without letting the listener off the hook easy: these songs ask for some form of hurt or desire to be paid back to them in return, some promise that the listener is putting equal skin into the game.

Moments of Clarity reflects a matured sense of purpose. Longtime Narrow Head fans will undoubtedly still recognize the band’s signature marriage of brutality and grace, and many of the core themes of desolation, loss, and self-medication that the band established on their prior records Satisfaction (2016) and 12th House Rock (2020) continue to haunt the edges of Moments of Clarity. All the same, Moments rises above the darkness with a sense of elegant repose. While not exactly optimistic in outlook, these songs simmer with a certain life affirming desire, a burning passion to transcend pure cynicism and self-destruction, if only for even a few seconds.

The forthcoming Narrow Head album is also available in a special subscriber edition through our Magic Circle Subscription. The special edition LP is limited to 100 copies on "blue and clear pinwheel" vinyl and come with hand numbered foil stamped obi-strips. Find more info about how to join the Magic Circle here.
