Turnover release "Tears of Change" ahead of 11/4 release of "Myself In the Way"

Virginia band Turnover shares the new single "Tears of Change," the fifth offering off their forthcoming full-length album Myself in the Way out November 4th via Run For Cover Records. Folded with psychedelic synths and soothing guitar bits, "Tears of Change" is a ballad about self-reflection.

"Tears of Change" follows the recently shared single "Ain't Love Heavy" featuring Bre Morell of Austin-based band Temple of Angels, along with the title track "Myself in the Way" featuring vocals from Brendan Yates of Turnstile, "Mountains Made of Clouds" and "Wait Too Long," which was included on an episode of Hayley Williams' BBC Radio show Everything Is Emo

Turnover is also unveiling the full support lineup for their headline fall tour run to celebrate the release of Myself in the Way, featuring George Clanton, Yumi Zouma, Horse Jumper of Love, Video Age, Temple of Angels and Rik on select dates. Kicking off after their previously announced headline shows in Boston and New York City, the 32-date run will begin in Toronto on November 8th, with stops in Chicago, Nashville, Seattle, Los Angeles, Austin, Atlanta and a hometown show in Norfolk before wrapping up in Philadelphia on December 18th. Tickets on sale HERE.

Myself in the Way was born out of Turnover's desire to continue evolving their sound, making each body of work more exploratory than the last, but it's also a byproduct of the band's growth both as individuals and collectively. Armed with a flurry of new ways for the band to express themselves creatively, they challenged themselves to make their most ambitious body of work to date. Co-produced by frontman Austin Getz alongside frequent collaborator Will Yip, Myself In The Way sounds more expansive than anything they've done, intently honing in on sound design this time around, and yet it's wholeheartedly more intimate and self-reliant on their vision and execution. Bassist Danny Dempsey painted the cover artwork himself, and longtime touring guitarist Nick Rayfield contributed songs to the album to lend an additional spark.

Check out "Tears of Change" and pre-order/save Myself in the Way above, see upcoming live dates, full album details, and learn more about the band below and stay tuned for more music from Turnover coming soon.

2022 marks the 10th anniversary of Basement's era-defining sophomore full-length, Colourmeinkindness, and to celebrate, the band have announced a deluxe reissue due out October 21st from Run For Cover Records.

Today Basement have shared their updated take on "Breathe," reworking the mid-album behemoth into a cut of jangly indie that proves just how lasting and airtight the songwriting on Colourmeinkindness is.

Stream "Breathe (Alternate Version)"

Along with groups like Title Fight, Superheaven, and Balance and Composure, Basement helped shape the sound of punk in the 2010s, and like many releases from those bands, Colourmeinkindness could have come out today and still feel as fresh and exciting as it did a decade ago. Drawing equally from '90s alternative and classic emo, the record was instrumental in drawing a line from punk and post-hardcore to shoegaze, grunge, and more. Basement went on a lengthy hiatus soon after the album's release in 2012, only furthering the record's impact and starting the ripples that are still felt in a new generation of bands today. The album's blend of punk energy and widescreen guitar rock ambition can be heard in the DNA of countless bands and since Basement's return the band's audience has only continued to grow. Colourmeinkindness (Deluxe Anniversary Edition) offers a chance to rediscover this landmark release--and to hear it in a new way. The release features drastically different versions of Colourmeinkindness cuts, reworked or stripped back, bringing to mind the kind of new and essential takes found on classic MTV Unplugged performances from the '90s.

Citizen unveil 2 unreleased b-sides as part of "Life In Your Glass World (Deluxe Edition)" out today

Last year Toledo-based rock powerhouse Citizen released their fourth full-length Life In Your Glass World via Run For Cover Records. The record pushed them into new sonic territory and earned praise from fans and critics alike (including attention from Stereogum, The FADER, Entertainment Weekly, Bandcamp Daily, NPR, SPIN Magazine, BrooklynVegan, and many more), marking another giant step forward for the always adventurous band. Today Citizen have released Life In Your Glass World (Deluxe Edition) which collects the original release along with two previously unheard b-sides and the band's Glass Mix EPs.

The two previously unreleased songs "A Passing Thing" and "I Don't Love You" continue to dive headfirst into the kind of biting, widescreen indie rock that makes Life In Your Glass World such a compelling listen. "A Passing Thing" is an uptempo burst of sharp guitars and driving drums that recalls the energy of Citizen's recent one-off single "Bash Out," while "I Don't Love You" showcases the lush arrangements and quick-changing dynamics that the band have come to excel at.

Citizen have been touring relentlessly since the release of Life In Your Glass World and they're about to hit the road again. In October the band will be doing a run of headlining North American dates with support from Prince Daddy & The Hyena, Militarie Gun, and Restraining Order. The shows include two dates in Los Angeles at The Regent (October 7th and 8th). See full itinerary below.

Field Medic releases single "Stained Glass" ahead of new album out 10/14

From his forthcoming album grow your hair long if you're wanting to see something that you can change, Field Medic has released a third single, "stained glass". The track finds the Los Angeles-based songwriter & musician also known as Kevin Patrick Sullivan reflecting on a crisis and concluding matter-of-factly, “this is a reckoning for my own stupidity.”

On his fifth full-length, Sullivan completely reinvented his recording approach, relinquishing solitary control of his typical, self-described “full-time freestyle” bedroom recording process, and heading into the producer & multi-instrumentalist Gabe Goodman's LA studio. In particular, “stained glass” is a shining showcase for steel guitarist Nick Levine (of Jodi) and drummer Nate Lich, who fleshed out arrangements across the album apart from four self-recorded and self-produced tracks.

Beginning October 2022, Field Medic embarks on a headlining fall tour through the US and Canada, with support from Sadurn, Derek Ted, and Juliet Sunflower. For the first time, he’ll be accompanied by a band in addition to his trusty boombox. Find a full list of tour dates below; buy tickets here.
